The Finance Section handles the financial administration of the Icelandic Civil Aviation Administration (ICAA), wage processing, booking and payment of invoices, as well as various internal services. The Section attends to the daily running of the ICAA, for example, preparation and collection of invoices on the basis of a tariff which is approved by the Minister of the Interior. The Finance Section prepares a financial and operating plan, cost assessment, and various settlements.

The financial planning of the ICAA takes place in the Finance Section. This includes the preparation of operating plans and budget proposals and work on the tariffs of the ICAA.

The Section handles the bookkeeping of the ICAA, such as preparation of invoices, reception and payment of invoices, as well as settlement of staff trips. Microsoft Dynamics NAV financial accounting is used.

The Finance Section controls the purchases of the ICAA, including office supplies and consumables.

Wage processing for employees of the ICAA takes place in the Finance Section. The ICAA uses project accounting to keep track of the work of employees. Employees register their work hours in Microsoft Dynamics NAV which invoices to customers are based on.

The Head of the Finance Section is Ingibjörg Þorsteinsdóttir. Ingibjörg completed a BS degree in Business Administration from the University of Iceland in 2002. She has worked at the ICAA since 2007.
