Rules concerning hand baggage
Rules on the content and quantity of liquid which passenger are allowed to take on board a flight entered into force within the European Union and EFTA states (Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland) on 6 November 2006. These rules apply to all international flights to and from Iceland and to all flights within the European Union and EFTA states. Domestic flights in Iceland are exempted. These rules set restrictions on what passengers are allowed to carry in hand baggage past the security gate.

Current rules on the transport of liquid in hold baggage in airplanes remain unchanged. It should be mentioned that air operators can further limit the size of baggage.
